Airport & Flight Update: Saturday 4th Feb 2012 - London Heathrow
Snow threats have forced Heathrow to cancel 30% of it's flights for tomorrow (Sunday 5th February 2012). This follows a weather warning from the Met Office.
The southeast of England is expected to be hit with heavy snowfall during Saturday and Sunday and as a result Heathrow airport said a reduced flight schedule has been agreed to minimise disruption to its passengers.
At 18:00 today, Heathrow will publish a revided schedule of flights. This will be available from www.heathrow.com
Additional revised flight schedules, showing any additional cancellations will be made on a rolling basis.
Current forecasts predict snow will start falling at London Heathrow from about 17:00 today (Saturday 4th February) and going through until 06:00 on Sunday. The heaviest snow is expected between 21:00 and 03:00hrs.
As much as 15cm of snow is expected to fall.
British Airways said it will publish details of flight cancellations later today. Virgin Atlantic is offering passengers due to fly tomorrow the opportunity to rebook to travel on Monday, Tuesday or Wednedsay of next week.
If you are due to travel this Sunday, check with your airline before setting off.
