The Maldives is the ultimate in luxury, romance and tropical holidays, nestled away in the Indian Ocean. It consists of a series of low-lying coral islands, rich in golden sands and a has become a paradise for sun worshipers and watersports enthusiasts alike.
Each island is home to a different hotel or resort so peace and relaxation you're looking for this is definitely the place. You're never more than about a metre above sea level, and a long walk around the island would take 30 minutes!
The Maldives has become known for it's luxury accomodation and facilities. Most islands have the option of water bungalows (accomodation built out into the ocean on stilts), many of which even offer your own private infinity pools, glass bottom floors or private buttler service.
Many of the islands have their own spa facilities to allow you to pamper yourself, offering the best treatments from around the World.
Watersports are second to none in the Maldives. Try windsurfing, or sailing with qualified instructors on hand. You'll also find many of the islands have qualified PADI dive schools and some of the best dives sites in the world. If you're not that adventurous you can simply try snorkelling over some of the richest marine life the ocean has to offer.
The Maldives is the perfect honeymoon destination. It's very secluded and luxurious nature makes it the most romantic destination. You'll find accommodation ranging from extremely good 3 start resorts, right up to the best 5 start luxury you'll find anywhere.
You're never more than a stones throw from the waters edge and the only thing which might obstruct a sea view will be a palm tree. Most islands have fresh water swimming pools at the centre of the resorts.
Even arriving at the Maldives is an amazing experience. Male International Airport is an island in itself. From there you'll be transferred to your island resort by either speed boat or sea plane, depending on the distance. Some islands also give you the option to upgrade to a sea plane as they realise this itself is part of the experience.
The Maldives gives you the best of everything. It's the perfect choice for someone looking to be on a desert island, but it can also be the perfect choice for someone who likes adventure. You can evern eat out every night.
Many islands have a choice of resturants all with fresh food and fantastic chefs. Accommodation is normally offered on either bed and breakfast basis, half board or all-inclusive. We would always recommend half board as a minimum. However if you like a good drink it's worth paying the extra to go All-Inclusive as this an island resort so drinks are imported and as a result do cost more.
Every year we send thousands of couples and families to the Maldives. If you're thinking of it as a holiday or honeymoon destination but have more questions please email us or call us and we'll be happy to help. We can also advise you about which resorts are best to meet your needs.
